British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two close friends.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the sports world had expressed condolences for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
