‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director
Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt ready to share openly about his deep grief.
"Sufficient time has elapsed that I can finally express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started passing more hours together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor shared archival material from the movie, remarking that he could not remember "any day without mirth".
"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes expressed.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I recall you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade
In a different piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.
"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he grasped the human predicament of his character," Scorsese wrote.
Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed
In a new development, a Los Angeles court official agreed to prevent the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A judicial mandate issued a restriction on the investigation to limit the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.
The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a official listing citing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing divisive remarks that were widely condemned by numerous commentators.
Podcaster Joe Rogan added his voice to the those speaking out last week. Conversing on his program, Rogan characterized the remarks as "shocking" and remarked they revealed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.
Rogan ended by suggesting that an aide could have intervened when the choice to weigh in on the tragedy was made.
