Two Individuals Accused Regarding Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Two men have been charged in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A young child was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people required hospital care and were later discharged.
This event – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
